A Walk in the Woods by LaurieLefebvre A Walk in the Woods by LaurieLefebvre
I'm often so busy with life that I find myself reflecting on walking through the woods, just for a break/a moment of peace.

acrylic painting by Maine artist L. Proctor for the Wacom Dream Contest

(these are the woods in Maine, lovely and restful)

I really love this! Yes, it's true, unfortunately, that glare is distracting when I look at it up close. But the small icon of it, it's simply breathtaking! :D

Nice.Have you ever tried painting on a smooth serface. I think the canvas texture workes againts you. Some painters work the serface of there canves untill the have a smooth serface then start to paint.

This painting is so beautiful, peaceful, calming.

The glare is distracting. I know some paintings are hard to photograph as some reflect more then others.

Thanks, glad you like it. The glare comes from the final coat/sealant that I put on at the end. It makes the acrylic shiny and photo not so well. I got to remember to take a photo prior to this last step. I'm sure my photography friends can give me a few pointers.

Yes, I have made that mistake as well. I keep the drawings piled up waiting for a sunny day to photograph them & then spray. Often I do not check to make sure the photos came out well before spraying & end up having to re-photograph after they are coated & that glare is near impossible to get rid of.

The scene is lovely!
